Title IX: Definitions

Sexual harassment - Sexual harassment is a form of misconduct which undermines an individual鈥檚 integrity and human dignity. It can originate from a person of either sex against a person of the opposite or same sex, and from co-workers, supervisors, instructors, students, or even non-employees of the College (i.e., vendors or invitees). It is offensive treatment or behavior which, to a reasonable person, creates an intimidating, hostile or abusive work or academic environment.

 

Sexually hostile environment - A sexually hostile environment exists when an individual鈥檚 conduct has the purpose or effect of unreasonably interfering with another individual鈥檚 academic or work performance or creating an intimidating, hostile or offensive academic or working environment. 

 

Quid pro quo harassment - 鈥淨uid pro quo鈥 harassment includes unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, and other physical conduct of a sexual nature when:

 

  • Submission to such conduct is made, either explicitly or implicitly, a term or condition of an individual鈥檚 academic 快播视频 (i.e., grades) or employment (i.e., a raise, promotion or assignment); or
  • Submission to or rejection of such conduct by an individual is used as the basis for academic or personnel decisions affecting the individual.

 

Sex discrimination 鈥 Sex discrimination involves treating someone unfavorably on the basis of sex stereotypes, sex characteristics, pregnancy or related conditions, sexual orientation, and gender identity.

 

Confidential Reporting 鈥 Licensed counselors are not obligated to report any information to the College, nor can they without the student鈥檚 consent. 

 

Anonymous Reporting 鈥A report of the nature, date, time, and general location of the incident to a Title IX Coordinator made without providing the name of victim/survivor.
