Job Description

Full-time faculty position in an Associate Degree Nursing Program. Instruct PARA215 鈥 Family and Domestic Relations Law 鈥 This course is designed for upper-level paralegal majors. Students acquire an understanding of the basic concepts, rules, and principles, as well as some of the basic practical applications that form the foundation of family and domestic relations law. Topics include terminology, courts, matrimonial, divorce, property distribution, child custody and visitation, child and spousal support, child protection, adoption, paternity, domestic violence, juvenile delinquency, and other relevant topics. In particular, students become familiar with common pleadings and documents a paralegal may assist in preparing. They acquire an understanding of relevant laws, especially the New York Family Court Act and New York Domestic Relations Law. In addition, students develop their understanding of courts and procedures, and work to strengthen their research, writing, and drafting skills.

Minimum Qualifications:

In compliance with ABA guidelines for a Paralegal program; 鈥淔aculty members must demonstrate knowledge in the areas in which they are providing instruction鈥. For example, a Law Degree and being currently licensed to practice in NY or another state with at least two full years of experience. Applicants must be knowledgeable in family law and matrimonial law, with experience practicing both highly preferably.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience teaching in an accredited higher education institution, especially a community college, is preferred.

Expected Hiring Salary Range:

For Adjunct Faculty, rates are pursuant to the collective bargaining agreement between 快播视频 Cortland Community College and the TC3 Adjunct Association. For each credit, entry pay rate is $1,065 - $1,123 dependent upon experience.

TC3 Farm Opportunities
