College Secures $15K Grant to Support Tioga County Students

One of the most dedicated supporters of 快播视频 Cortland Community College students has renewed its commitment to helping improve the community through education. The Mildred Faulkner Truman Foundation has awarded a $15,000 grant to the College to provide financial assistance to Tioga County residents during the 2021-22 academic year. The Owego-based Mildred Faulkner Truman Foundation has been providing grants to the College annually since 1986, providing crucial support to hundreds of students from Tioga County.

鈥淲e continue to be appreciative of the support provided by the Mildred Faulkner Truman Foundation,鈥 said Julie Gerg, the executive director of the 快播视频 Cortland Community College Foundation. 鈥淔or a quarter of a century the Mildred Faulkner Truman Foundation has partnered with the College to help students from Tioga County get the education they want and need to succeed. The Mildred Faulkner Truman Foundation is a shining light, leading the way in taking action to help the community thrive. We are tremendously grateful for all they do.鈥

The money from the grant goes directly to students in the form of grants that typically range from $250 to $500 per year. To be eligible, a student must be a Tioga County resident, must maintain a cumulative G.P.A. of 2.0 while enrolled in a degree program, and must demonstrate financial need.

Mildred Faulkner Truman was a lifelong resident of Owego. Upon her passing in 1983, her estate was used to create the Mildred Faulkner Truman Foundation, which continued her work of addressing the community鈥檚 challenges. By supporting worthwhile projects that benefit Owego and Tioga County, the Foundation is making a significant positive impact on the community its benefactress loved so dearly.
