Full Scholarships Available for ¿ì²¥ÊÓƵ County Residents Pursuing Microcredentials in Spring 2024
¿ì²¥ÊÓƵ County residents are eligible to earn a microcredential from ¿ì²¥ÊÓƵ Cortland Community College for free.
Through a grant from the ¿ì²¥ÊÓƵ County Legislature’s Community Recovery Fund, ¿ì²¥ÊÓƵ County residents in microcredential programs can have Spring 2024 tuition and fees completely covered. The funding of $111,820 was part of $6.53 million in grants provided by the Community Recovery Fund to a variety of organizations, government entities, and small businesses to help them recover from the impacts of COVID-19 and enhance the community’s resilience into the future.
Designed to teach specific, in-demand skills in collaboration with local employers or targeted job needs, microcredentials play a crucial role in providing the educated and skilled workforce the community needs. Taking less time to complete than a traditional degree or certificate, sometimes as little as one semester, microcredentials offer a valuable career credential upon completion and can lead directly to higher paying jobs.
The College offers microcredentials in more than a dozen fields, including Clinical Medical ¿ì²¥ÊÓƵ, Direct Service Provider, Electrical Engineering Technician, Food and Beverage Service, Medical Office Administrative ¿ì²¥ÊÓƵ, Micro-Nano Fabrication Safety, Residential Aide, and Special Education Advocacy.
