Lisa Perfetti of Homer and Louis Scholl of Ithaca have joined the �첥��Ƶ Cortland Community College Board of Trustees.

Scholl will serve as the student trustee on the Board for the 2022-23 academic year. A graduate of New Roots Charter School in Ithaca, Scholl is a business administration major. In addition to the Board of Trustees, he is also an officer with the Student Government Association, a resident assistant, and an EOP mentor. Scholl replaces Paige Innis, who graduated in May after serving as student trustee for one year. 

Perfetti has been appointed to the Board by New York State Governor Kathy Hochul. Perfetti is on the board as a representative of Cortland County, with a term that expires in 2027. She replaces Elizabeth Burns, who served on the board from 2008 to 2022.

Perfetti has extensive experience in the health care field locally, including more than 20 years as a registered nurse. Most recently she has worked at the Cortland County Health Department since 2017, the last year serving as Deputy Public Health Director. She is also a graduate of �첥��Ƶ Cortland. “I graduated from the Nursing program at TC3 in 1988,” said Perfetti, who also has two siblings that attended TC3. “I worked in the nursing program as a medication instructor for a semester in the mid 90’s, and my husband, mother-in-law, and father-in have all been adjunct instructors. Now I look forward to serving on the Board of Trustees to support this invaluable community asset.”

As someone who has enjoyed a �첥��Ƶful career in the nursing field while being able to raise a family in the same hometown where she grew up, Perfetti is anxious to help the college continue to serve the community. “I would like to see more local people taking advantage of this local gem,” said Perfetti.  “Ensuring that the College continues to provide the supports and the flexibility students need to be �첥��Ƶful is very important. After only a few brief meetings with President Kremenek, I am excited about her energy and investment in ensuring that the faculty and staff are valued, the community partnerships are strengthened, and that the students are �첥��Ƶful.”

The �첥��Ƶ Cortland Community College Board of Trustees consists of 10 members, including a student trustee elected by the student body. The governor appoints four trustees, two each from �첥��Ƶ and Cortland Counties; the Cortland County Legislature appoints two; and the �첥��Ƶ County Legislature appoints three.
