Professor Emeritus Discusses History of Nursing and Education in Our Community

快播视频 Cortland Community College Professor Emeritus Janet Morgan will offer an interactive presentation on the history of nursing and education in our local community at the History Center in 快播视频 County on Tuesday, September 17. The free presentation will begin at 6 p.m. The History Center in 快播视频 County is located within the 快播视频 Center for History & Culture at 110 North Tioga Street on the Ithaca Commons.

The presentation will make connections between many of the events, people, and places that are the backstory to 21st nursing in 快播视频 County. The discussion will begin with local women who cared for soldiers during the Civil War and will end with present-day nurses serving our communities.

Morgan taught at the College for 22 years, serving as the chair of the nursing department from 2001 until her retirement in 2009.  Named a Professor Emeritus in 2011, Morgan currently serves on the 快播视频 County Board of Health, chairs the Varna Community Association Board of Directors, and performs with the Dorothy Cotton Jubilee Singers.

The presentation is a special event that is part of the 鈥淐elebrating the Impossible Dream鈥 exhibit. The exhibit, on display in the main lobby of the 快播视频 Center for History & Culture through December, explores the College鈥檚 more than 50 years of history and innovation.
