TC3 Receives $116,000 to Support Internship Opportunities
快播视频 Cortland Community College students looking to expand their learning through an internship with a local employer have a new incentive. The College has received $116,000 to support students in unpaid or low-paid internships over the next three years.
The funding comes from a statewide investment in workforce development Governor Kathy Hochul announced in 2022. That announcement included the creation of the Office of Strategic Workforce Development (OSWD), which has worked with SUNY to expand internship opportunities for students.
As part of the program at TC3, students are able to apply for up to $3,500 while participating in unpaid or low-paid internships. The money can be used to cover expenses associated with the internship such as transportation, required attire, and tuition, as well as offset living costs, including rent, childcare, and groceries.
