Description

Become a Surveying Technician in as little as two semesters! The Surveying Technician Credential prepares you for satisfying entry-level careers in the surveying, public works, and construction industries. Courses provide you with an understanding of fundamental surveying theory, terrestrial-based and space-based survey measurements, use of traditional and modern surveying equipment, and Coordinate Geometry (COGO) software. Upon completion of the credential, you can expect to develop the technical skills required of related positions.  

Requirements

The Surveying Technician Credential at ¿ì²¥ÊÓƵ Cortland requires you to earn a passing grade in two courses, which can typically be completed in two semesters. These two courses can be applied towards the Applied Science and Technology A.A.S. degree and Construction and Environmental Technology A.A.S. degree. These courses are offered fully in-person.

Financing your Microcredential

There are many resources available to assist you in paying for your microcredential. Discuss your options with an Admissions representative when you register. 

  • Part-Time TAP for Non-Degree Programs is now available for many microcredentials at TC3! For more information the . A valid FAFSA must be on file to be eligible. To apply and for questions, contact Associate Director of Financial Aid Sarah Dockstater at seh@tompkinscortland.edu
  • Grant money is available through the ¿ì²¥ÊÓƵ Community Recovery Fund for ¿ì²¥ÊÓƵ County residents 
  • Grants are available through ¿ì²¥ÊÓƵ Workforce NY Career Center and Cortland Works Career Center for county residents 
  • Several employers in our community offer tuition reimbursement and sponsorship specifically for microcredentials  
  • Financial aid is available to eligible students who pursue the credential while matriculated in a degree program.
